Adding Sarasota FL as a Destination
Southwest Airlines announced in mid-November that they would soon be launching services to and from the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. We are very excited and it’s great news for vacationers! Sarasota will be the 10th city in Florida that is serviced by Southwest Airlines.
The CEO and President of Sarasota Bradenton, Rick Piccolo, had this to say in a release: “We are thrilled to welcome Southwest Airlines to the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ). This is especially significant during these challenging times in aviation. Southwest’s low fares and renowned customer service will provide the bi-county community, as well as our inbound visitors, with access to the vast network of destinations that Southwest Airlines serves.”
When to Expect This to Happen
Travelers can expect Southwest to come to SRQ within the first three months of 2021, so you won’t have to wait too long to start planning your trip to Sarasota and the surrounding area! It’s been announced that the first batch of flights will take off starting on February 14, 2021. These flights will take passengers from cities such as Houston, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; Baltimore, Maryland / Washington, D.C.; and Nashville, Tennessee.
